Sara H & Blue R

Sara and Blue have been making TV documentaries for more than 18 years. They work as a two-woman, self-shooting production unit. After careers at the BBC, they set up Gold Star Productions in 2009 to create films that make a difference.

They work collaboratively with organisations and individuals to make observational documentaries in subject areas that are not well-understood. Recent productions offer insights into the criminal justice system, rape and sexual assault, and the work of the British Army Counter Improvised Explosive Device task force.  Through making programmes they’ve met some incredible people who have bravely chosen to share what’s happening in their lives.

Drawing on their expertise as award-winning film-makers, with multiple BAFTA and Royal Television Society Awards nominations, Sara and Blue can be available to shoot and produce your short projects.

They have worked on highly sensitive subject matter such as working with survivors of recent rape and serious sexual assault, vulnerable children who have been trafficked and abused, and parents and family members grieving the death of loved ones. Gaining trust and maintaining relationships are both vital, as is collaborating with the multiple support/government organisations and NGOs involved.

Sara and Blue have also worked as a team in countries outside the UK, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, as well as the US and Australia.
